| Cave towns of Crimea are " fragments of
lost civilization, mute witnesses of human passions: joy of cunning bargain,
the night pray-thanksgiving for healthy children and happiness in marriage...
and - sudden fury of Nogai nomads, fire and grief..." For this hiking tour we leave Yalta and go by car to Bakhchisaray' area (100 km. from Yalta). We visit by foot a small cave monastery, situated far in the mountains. We spend some time here, sitting and relaxing in a peace of mind. Starting from 2004 this monastery is active and there are some monks who live here. We take our lunch on a nice spot with a marvelous view and then continue our hike to visit a cave town. After that we comeback with another road. Vertical ascent and descent about 500 m. Total distance 19 km. Time on foot is about 6 hours. For a night we stay in house of inhabitants in a small village near a bottom of the Grand Canyon of Crimea. | The Great Canyon of Crimea is a Natural Reserve. Walls of the canyon are about 300 m. above the level of its bottom. We start our hiking from a house where we stayed for a night. Along a beautiful path we walk until the most exciting point of view where from we will see all the Grand Canyon (900 m. above sea level). After spending some time relaxing and enjoying the panorama we comeback to the village by another path. Then we go by car to Yalta. Vertical ascent and descent about 650 m. Total distance 14 km.
